Zoe-perry
Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback) her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. Her parents, however, did not allow her to act until she reached the age of adulthood due to the impact stress might be able to have on their daughter. Perry states that she did not want to be an actor in high school but decided to take up acting as a social activity during her time at Northwestern University when she switched to it from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved in New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness drove her to California in search of theater jobs. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. In 2015, she appeared together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was featured nine times on the ABC drama The Family, in 2016. In 2017, she played an recurring role in The ABC political thriller Scandal starring her father. The character she played was an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. She was cast in the role despite having a close relationship with the character's family.
