Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. Her birth date was 24 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox was a student at Lennox's Royal Academy of Music, London during the 1970s. She studied the harpsichord as well as the flute for three full years. She was able to survive on a student allowance and worked part-time in order to make ends meet. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and she pondered what alternative option she could pursue. Lennox was a flute player in a band formed in 1976 called Dragons Playground. The band disbanded prior to the group's appearance to I.T.V.s talent competition New Faces. Between 1977 and the year 1980, she was the singer in The Tourists. A British pop group. She got to know Dave Stewart, with whom formed the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox began to work on her debut solo album Diva in 1992. The album received huge praise both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album debuted in October of 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs her favorite soul jazz and blues tunes from her early years. Lepidoptera is a collection of four songs that were improvised by piano that Lennox has released in May 2019. The E.P. The E.P. is an accompaniment to the artwork she created at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let You Go... This album is her first released independently. After a brief achievements as a member of new wave group The Tourists in the late 1970s, she along with fellow singer Dave Stewart went on to become internationally renowned as the pop duo Eurythmics in the early 1980s. Medusa the album she released in 1995 contains cover versions of songs such asNo MoreI I Love Yous as well as A Whiter Shade of Pale.
