Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam and has Chinese roots, while Winston Barrett Munn's clan has roots that go back to the American South. Olivia's parents split up at the age of 2 years old. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather, who is an United States Air Force officer. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan, even when the family moved frequently. In Japan, she acted as an actress at local theater performances and then became a Japanese models for fashion. Olivia left her home in the United States back to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of being an actor. Olivia's professional career started to take off after just a couple of tiny role. The role she landed was that of Mily in Hawaii-lensed television series Beyond the Break (2005) and the receptionist role for Rob Schneider in Big Stan (2006). She hosts G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" and "Formula D". She enjoys surfing, which she is still practicing after the television show Beyond the Break (2006). Additionally, she has earned an black belt in Taekwondo. She was only two when her mother married again, but this time with the same US Air Force member. The family has moved many times but she was a majority of her youth in Tokyo Japan due to the fact that it was where her father was stationed. Attending at the University of Oklahoma where she was a journalist with minors of Japanese and dramatic art.
